FAMILY FUN AT MAGIC FESTIVAL

FAMILY FUN AT MAGIC FESTIVAL

Families from across the North East are being invited to bring a touch of magic into their lives with the South Tyneside International Magic Festival 2010.

On Wednesday, March 10, the festival will play host to a special Family Magic Extravaganza at the Customs House in South Shields, catering for magic fans of all ages.

The show, sponsored by Newcastle-based magic retailer MagicBox, will be compered by family favourite Tommy the Trumpeter and feature a packed line-up of performers from Newcastle’s Magic Circle, as well as a special international guest.

Leading the line-up is MagicBox owner and youngest ever President of the Newcastle Magic Circle, Graeme Shaw, who will be bringing several of his award-winning illusions to the Customs House stage.

Newcastle’s Matthew Dowden, who turned his back on a career in law to become a professional magician, will also be performing live and promises to entertain the audience with his unique combination of comedy and magic.

Children’s favourite, Magic Mick - otherwise known as Mick Redfearn - completes the line-up of local talent and will be performing alongside his popular sidekick, Houdini the rabbit.

The headline act for the Family Magic Extravaganza will be American magician Tim Sonefelt who has been entertaining family audiences for more than 20 years and will be making his first appearance in the UK as part of the South Tyneside International Magic Festival 2010.

The South Tyneside International Magic Festival is organised by South Tyneside Council with help from former President of the Newcastle Magic Circle, Martin Duffy.

Tickets for the Family Magic Show at The Customs House are priced at £6 each and are available by calling the theatre direct on 0191 454 1234 or visiting www.customshouse.co.uk
