A public consultations underway into plans to shut childrens inpatients services at South tyneside District Hospital and move them to Newcastle and Sunderland

Health bosses want your views on plans to shut childrens' inpatient services at South Tyneside District Hospital. It means children with long-term illnesses would instead stay in Sunderland or Newcastle.

Director of Comissioning Development, Dr David Hambleton, says the move makes sense, but wants to hear your views too. He's been speaking to our reporter Joel Goldman:
