Story Highlight

Two North East projects are getting millions in Big Lottery funding to improve childrens lives in the North East

2 groundbreaking North East projects are going to get millions of pounds worth of Big Lottery funding to help improve the lives of some of the region's most disadvantaged children.

The first is the Tyne Gateway Trust, which is working with The Childrens' Society to help tackle child poverty. They're using Improving Futures funding to work with families in disadvantaged neighbourhoods, who then decide upon and design the services they need to improve their areas:

The second project to get funding is The Neighbourhood Alliance. Based out of the Stadium of Light, the SAFC Foundation has a track record of using the power of football to get local children and families involved in learning activities. The neighbourhood Alliance project will help them reach out to disadvantaged neighbourhoods and collaborate with families to re-design the services they use.
